Oregon Tech Tops C of I To Complete Weekend Sweep
CALDWELL, Idaho – A big second quarter surge lifted visiting Oregon Tech to a 72-54 Cascade Conference victory over the College of Idaho inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The Owls (14-5, 8-2 CCC) got three Ashleigh Vandenbrink 3-pointers in the big second period, as OIT built a 16-point lead at the intermission. Tech outscored C of I 17-4 during a six minute stretch spanning the first two quarters, as a Karissa Harbick triple gave the squad a 33-16 edge. Vandenbrink hit treys on the final two possessions of the half, extending the lead to 39-21.
C of I (4-12, 3-7) got within 57-43 early in the fourth quarter on a
Petra Lumpert free throw, but Vandenbrink drained her fifth triple of the night in an 8-0 run that put the game out of reach.
Haylee Burnham was the lone Lady Yote in double figures, scoring 14 points, with
Kiara Skinner and
Ryleigh Swagerty each scoring nine.
Vandenbrink led OIT with 15 points, with Megan Whetstone scoring 14 and Karly Leveque 12.
The Yotes return to action on Tuesday, traveling to Eastern Oregon for a 5:30 p.m. (PT) tip-off.
