England’s School Record In Triple Jump Highlights Bronco Invitational

RESULTS
 
NAMPA, Idaho – Junior Eric England placed first and the set the No. 1 mark in the country in the triple jump, and the Eastern Oregon University indoor track & field team returned home from the Boise State Bronco Invitational in Nampa, Idaho, on Saturday.
 
England’s mark of 15.50m (50-10.25) not only set a school record, but it also qualified the Idaho native for the NAIA Indoor Championships.
 
WOMEN’S RESULTS
Freshman Amanda Welch paced the Mountaineers in the 600m run with a fifth-place finish. Her time of 1:42.59 was the seventh-fastest time in EOU history, and she later took sixth in the 1000m run (3:13.00) for the third-fastest mark in program history. In addition, freshman Caitlyn Rowe registered a mark of 1:47.69 in the 600m for the 10th-fastest time at EOU.
 
Junior Rachel Roelle trounced her own school record by 3.1 seconds and ran 3:07.54 to take third overall in the 1000m.  
 
In the triple jump, sophomore Amanda Fowler flew 10.06m (33-0.25) for the seventh-best mark at EOU, while junior Marta Stangel recorded the eighth-best weight throw in program history with a mark of 13.89m (45-7.00).
 
Freshmsn Katie Emerson placed 16th overall amongst her competitors and ninth in the EOU record books in the prelims of the 60m hurdles with a mark of 9.78.
 
The Mountaineers capped the meet with strong performances in the 4x400m relays. On the women’s side, the combination of seniors Megan Sullivan and Kendall Current, sophomore Jennifer Peters, and freshman Katie Emerson uncorked the 10th-fastest time (4:03.46) in program history.
 
MEN’S RESULTS
In the men’s 4x400m relay, EOU took fifth overall and finished ahead of Utah Valley, Boise State, Concordia (Ore.), and Sacramento State. The foursome of senior Ryan Rosenau and freshmen Devin Lewis-Allen, Jebari Cumberbatch, and Codi Blodgett combined for a mark of 3:23.67, the second-fastest time in the EOU record books. 
 
Cumberbatch continued to shine in his first year as a Mountaineer, as he broke his one-week old school record and ran 22.11 in the 200m. He tied for fifth overall in a pool of 29 sprinters.
 
Blodgett improved to No. 3 all time at EOU in the 200m with a mark of 22.73, which put three freshmen (Cumberbatch, Lewis-Allen, Blodgett) in the top four all time in program history.
 
In the pole vault, freshman Kaden Walker posted a vault of 4.35m (14-3.25) to take seventh overall and 10th all time at EOU.

The Mountaineers return to action on Jan. 29 for the UW Invitational in Seattle, Wash.
