PORTLAND, Ore. - Warner Pacific kept pace in the Cascade Conference standings with an 80-43 win over Walla Walla after a rare afternoon game at Bart Valentine Court.

The Short Story

Warner Pacific dominated the first 3 quarters on the way to a convincing result over a winless Walla Walla squad. The visiting Wolves could not get on track offensively, making just 6 of 24 field goal tries in the first half. On the other hand, WPC hit for 50% in the first half, then even better after the break at 60%. The Knights scored the first seven points of the game, then led 14-6 after the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter, WP used a 17-0 run to break the game open and lead 36-13 at half. The visiting Wolves found a few better looks at the rim in the second half and matched Warner Pacific's scoring in the 4th quarter, but the Knights added 15 more points to their halftime lead during the 3rd quarter to put the game out of reach. Kasara Brandenberg scored a season high 18 points to lead the Knights.

How it Happened

• Warner Pacific scored the first seven points of the game, and held Walla Walla without a field goal until the 6:12 mark of the 1st quarter.
• A Taylor Howlett three-point play a the end of the quarter put WP ahead 14-6.
• The visiting Wolves started the 2nd quarter strong, cutting the gap to five points (16-11) after Grace Wallace canned a three pointer. 
• WP held Walla Walla to a single basket the rest of the period, while scoring 17 straight. Bailey Allen converted a layup to make the score at halftime 36-13. 
• The Knights continued to score with ease after the break, extending their advantage to 63-26 after 3 quarters.
• WWU played the Knights even in the 4th quarter, as Christina Thermidor found room to operate inside. The post player finished with 14 points.
• Kendra Preuninger scored seven points in the final quarter to help the Knights coast to the win.
