England Tops Triple Jump Record at UW Invitational

SEATTLE, Wash. – Junior Eric England did it again – this time on the slate at Dempsey Indoor.
 
On Saturday afternoon at the University of Washington Invitational, England won the triple jump and broke his own school record with a mark of 15.61m (51.2.25). He also posted the No. 1 triple jump in the country. Last week, England leaped 15.50m (50-10.25) at the Bronco Invitational.
 
In the long jump, England ousted his previous mark of 6.80m (22-3.75) at the Bronco Invitational with an effort of 6.91m (22-8.00) to finish 10th out of 26 competitors.
 
Senior Talitha Fagen vaulted a season-best mark of 3.82m (12-6.25) to tie for sixth with four other competitors. Her performance was the best women’s vault in the NAIA through Jan. 29, 2016.
 
Freshman Jebari Cumberbatch took 25th in the 200m dash with a time of 22.61 seconds, and he later posted a tally of 7.02 in the prelims of the 60m dash.
 
In the women’s 200m dash, senior Megan Sullivan uncorked an effort of 26.30 seconds to take 48th overall.
 
Senior Tanner Yarbrough registered a toss of 15.89m (52-1.75) in the weight throw to earn 10th out of 22 throwers. 
 
Back on the track, senior Ryan Rosenau mustered a time of 8.64 seconds in the prelims of the 60m hurdles.
 
NEXT MEET
EOU will compete in the Portland Indoor Invitational on Feb. 4 before traveling to Nampa, Idaho, to take part in the BSU Jacksons Invitational on Feb. 5-6.
