PORTLAND, Ore. – Southern Oregon scored two goals during a thee minute span toward the end of the first period to earn the 2-0 victory over Warner Pacific today at Damazo Field.

The Knight defense was sturdy all day, but lost focus for a few minutes and SOU took advantage. Facienne Graham was dangerous all afternoon, and got the Raiders on the board in the 40th minute, cracking a shot from 18 yards away.

Less than three minutes later, Graham sped down the left side and then found teammate Maddy Spangler with a pass from the endline, and she finished with an eight yard shot.

WPC could not muster a consistent attack, but nearly cut the lead in half coming out of halftime. Ashley Giesbers found space from 15 yards away and clanged her shot off the crossbar in the 46th minute.

Cathy Lara made five saves in goal for the Knights, while Kylie Moltzen and Andi Rasmussen shared goalkeeper duties and did not need to make any saves to preserve the shutout for the Raiders.
