KIRKLAND, Wash. - Two second half goals, including the game winner by Mohamed Oulare in the 85th minute, lifted Great Falls to a 2-1 victory over Northwest University on a wet and stormy afternoon on the NU Athletic Field.

Oulare’s goal came on a lob over the top of the Northwest defense as he dribbled up the middle and put a hard shot past NU goalkeeper Agazi Birkner.

Chris Iacolucci put the Eagles in front 1-0, 31:50 into the first half on shot after he rebounded his own penalty kick and scored from 4 yards out on the right side. A UGF player was whistled for a hand ball in the box which led to the PK.

With Northwest U leading, Oulare scored the tying goal in the 53rd minute from 6 yards out on the left side after teammate Cole Myers headed the ball across the goal mouth.

Great Falls (6-5, 5-3 CCC) pressed hard in the second half taking 15 of their 22 shots in the period while limiting the Eagles to 6 in the half and 11 for the game. Oulare led the Argonauts with 6 shots, 3 on goal with Marc Girones earning the win making three saves in goal.

Freshman Agazi Birkner, filling in for injured goalkeeper Daniel Christenson, made six saves in goal for Northwest U (9-4, 5-3 CCC). Chris Iacolucci had five shots for the Eagles, two shots on goal.

“I was disappointed in that we did not put away our scoring opportunities today,” said Gary McIntosh, NU head coach. “We have to be better in front of the goal and that is the bottom line.”

Northwest U will remain at home and takes on Carroll College in their final home game of the season at 3 p.m. Stormy weather is forecasted for the game.
