Lady Owls Fly Past Lions 3-0
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Oregon Tech broke Multnomah’s three game winning streak with a convincing three set sweep (25-19, 25-22, 25-16) of the visiting Lions Friday night at Danny Miles Court. The Owls move to 5-8 in Cascade Conference play and 9-10 with the win. Multnomah slips to 8-12 on the season and 3-10 in CCC play with the loss.
Tech took an early 3-0 lead following a Kelsey Sampson service ace. The Lions bounced back to tie the set at 6-6 before OIT took the next 9 out of 13 points to take a 15-10 lead. Multnomah then went on a nice run to tie things up at 19-19. Following a timeout, OIT then won the next six points to take the opening set 25-19.
Multnomah caught fire in set 2 opening up a 17-12 lead. Oregon Tech then dominated the Lions taking 13 of next 18 points to win 25-22.
Tech jumped out to an early 6-2 lead and never looked back in set three cruising to a 25-18 win.
Whitney Webster and Bailey Nelson led the Tech hit parade with 9 kills each. Tech’s Kelsey Sampson chipped in 7 kills along with a team high 16 digs.
Waverly Green Locked down the middle with a game high 26 assists.
Tech had a .155 hit percentage while holding the Lions to .085
The lions were led by Hannah Antal and Maile Kam with 7 kills each.
Tech will host Warner Pacific Saturday afternoon at 5:00 pm at Danny Miles Court with Multnomah heading over to battle SOU in Ashland. SOU swept Warner Pacific Friday 25-21, 25-23, 25-11.
