KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University and Carroll College battled to a 0-0 tie in double overtime this afternoon on the NU Athletic Field. With occasional heavy rain and some wind, the teams exchanged shots with neither able to finish for the win. It was also senior day for seven Eagle players who were recognized along with their families in a pre-game ceremony.

Carroll goalkeeper, Jamie Carter, made several key saves in her 10 stops for the day as did Lauren Hellum, NU goalkeeper, who saved five of the Saints’ shots on goal. NU totaled 22 shots while Carroll took 21 with each one dominating a half. Northwest U outshot Carroll 10-6 in the first half while Carroll came back with 12 shots to NU’s 6 in the second.

Northwest U (8-4-1, 4-2-1 CCC) thought they had the game winner 43 seconds into the first overtime when Tatyana Reveles’ shot came off the Carroll keeper’s hands and was put back in for a score, but the ruling was the Eagles were offside on the play.

Carroll’s (9-3-3, 6-0-3 CCC) Allison Zimmerman came close to a score in the 88th minute when her shot hit the crossbar.

“I felt our women played well against a very tough opponent today and just came up a little short,” said Bryan Chud, NU head coach. “I’m very proud of the way they competed in some challenging weather conditions as well.”
