Lady Yotes Roll Evergreen in Three Sets at Home

CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho rolled Evergreen State in three straight sets (25-14, 25-15, 25-21) to extend their home winning streak to three straight matches at the J.A. Albertson Activity Center.
The Lady Yotes (15-8, 10-5 CCC) came out aggressively, taking a 12-5 lead over the Geoducks (4-17, 3-11) after three straight kills from
Brenna Meehan. After trading points back-and-forth, the Yotes captured the first set 25-14 on a 3-0 run highlighted by kills from
Randi Sturtz and
Jackie van Vliet.
The College of Idaho controlled the second set, starting on a 13-2 run featuring a service ace by
Jayde Folsom and kills from
Alaina Slater and Meehan. The Yotes continued to dominate the set, finishing it off 25-15 with a kill from
Katy Robinson.
The final set remained gridlocked between the teams at 13-13, before the Lady Yotes went on a 4-1 run to reclaim the lead, one they would not give up for the rest of the match.
Meehan led the match in kills with 12 while
Ashley Pagan contributed 10 of her own. Folsom led the way with 27 assists while
Sydney Call tallied 16 as well.
The Yotes defense only allowed 24 kills all match and recorded six blocks as a team. Five different Yotes logged a service ace.
The Yotes go on the road for their next match against Cascade Conference opponent Warner Pacific on Friday, October 21st at 7 p.m. PST.
