Battlin' Bears send the Saints marching
BILLINGS, Mont. - October 2, 2016 - The Rocky Mountain College Battlin' Bears men's soccer team outlasted the visiting Carroll College Saints 2-1 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action Sunday.
Sophomore Luca Wiechers got Rocky off to a 1-0 start when he connected on a penalty kick at the 23:35 minute mark. Carroll's Eli Fox knotted things up at the 42:24 minuite mark.
Sophomore Tiago Ewald scored the game winner at the 51 minute mark. He was assisted by Ben Teasdale, a senior captain from Leeds, England.
The Battlin' Bears finished with 10 shots on goal, while holding the Saints to four.
The Battlin' Bears, who improved to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in league play, return to action October 7, when the host Northwest Christian University on Wendy's Field beginning at 3pm.
