Oregon Tech Women's Golf Named Team of the Week
LA GRANDE, Ore. – With a wire to wire victory in the second conference tournament of the season the Oregon Tech’s women’s golf team has been named the “Team of the Week” for September 26-October 2, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
The Lady Owls carded a two day total of 634 (323, 311) at the Warner Pacific Invite, held at the Glendoveer Golf Course, and defeated runner-up Corban University by 15 strokes. Naomi Ernst took home medalist honors with a 151 (73, 78). 4 of 5 top finishers were clad in the navy and golf of Oregon Tech.
Stephanie Koza shot a 155 (80, 75) for second-place honors, followed by Janelle Ferlan- 156 (80, 76) tied for third and Heidi Froelich- 157 (79, 78) good for fifth place.
Oregon Tech holds a 52 stroke lead over preseason favorite Corban after two CCC events. The Lady Owls will complete the fall portion of the conference season October 10-11 when they travel to Walla Walla, Washington to play at the famed Wine Valley Course.
