Battlin' Bears claim 4-0 win over Eagles
BILLINGS, Mont. - October 21, 2016 - The Rocky Mountain College men's soccer team blanked the visiting Northwest University Eagles, 4-0, under the lights at Herb Klindt Field in Billings Friday.
Freshman Marco Kummerle got the Battlin' Bears on the board at the 5:16 minute mark as he scored on an assist from sophomore Tulio Melo.
Sophomore Chasen Lasure put the Battlin' Bears up 2-0, as he scored the first of his two goals at the 43:06 minute. He was assisted by fellow sophomore Gregor Watson.
Lasure scored on an assisted goal at the 49:43 minute, putting Rocky up 3-0.
Sophomore Nolan Sherwood finished out the scoring at the 65:36 minutet on an assist from sophomore Tiago Ewald.
Ten of Rocky's 17 shot attempts were on goal. Junior goal keeper, Cole Catlin, was credited with four saves.
The win improved the Battlin' Bears to 10-3-1 overall and they are now 8-1-1 in the Cascade Conference.
The Battlin' Bears will close out their regular season schedule this Sunday, October 23, by hosting Evergreen State College on Wendy's Field at 12pm It will be Senior Day, as three seniors - Eddie Cass, Ben Teasdale and Caelin Casper - will be honored prior to the contest.
