KIRKLAND, Wash. – The head coach of the Northwest University’s men’s soccer team made an announcement very close to home today announcing the signing of Kyler McIntosh to a letter of intent to attend the university and play for the Eagle soccer team. Kyler is the son of NU head coach, Gary McIntosh.

Kyler is a 6-0, 160 lb. center midfielder from Lynnwood, Wash., and will graduate from the McIntosh Academy in spring of 2017. He played his select soccer for FC Edmonds and the Northwest Nationals and has been named team captain for the past five years. In addition to playing soccer, McIntosh has also been a volunteer coach for the Northwest Christian Sports League for three years. McIntosh also played soccer while attending Cedar Park Christian in Bothell.

“Wow, this is a special day for me, really a dream come true to announce that my son Kyler has signed to play for me at Northwest U,” stated Coach McIntosh. “I’m proud of what Kyler has accomplished as a player thus far and look forward to what he can do for us at NU.  Kyler is a box-to-box midfielder who has the ability to break the game open. He reads the game so well; his vision, passing, and decision making is spot on. Kyler will make us a better team right away. I’m really excited to have him playing for me and I look forward to the next few years and having the opportunity to coach him.”
