PORTLAND, Ore. – College of Idaho came in looking to bounce back from a loss last night, defeating the Multnomah University volleyball in three sets, 19-25, 13-25 and 8-25, on Saturday night in Lytle Gym.
The Lions move to 9-15 overall on the year, going 3-13 in the Cascade College Conference while the Yotes improve to 16-9, 11-6 CCC as they look to hold playoff spot.
How it Happened: The Lions began the night on a positive note, building a 15-10 lead midway through the first set. C of I used two five-point runs in the set to jump ahead before closing out with 15 of the final points scored to take a one set advantage.
C of I was careful with their attacks, reaching only nine hitting errors on the night, while MU finished with 25.
Errors by the Lions allowed the Yotes to string together point after point through the night while the visitors worked a .288 hitting percentage, holding the Lions to a hitting percentage of -.023.
By the Numbers: Miranda Halverson recorded eight kills to lead MU followed by seven from
Maile Kam and four from Batty Batoon.
Kiana Miller tallied a team high nine digs while
Marissa Rhodes added 13 assists.
C of I's Brenna Meehan ended the night with a match high 10 kills to go along with nine digs Jayde Folsom and Sydney Call ended with 16 and eight assists respectively.
