SALEM, Ore. – With junior Amber Parker leading the way, the No. 22-ranked Corban University volleyball team dominated The Evergreen State College on Saturday afternoon in straight sets (25-14, 25-11, 25-21), clinching its second-straight berth in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Tournament. For the Warriors, it keeps them in a good position with a two-match advantage for second place heading into the final four matches of the CCC regular season.

“The girls came out with good intensity again tonight,” said Corban head coach Kim McLain. “It was another team effort to finish the weekend.”

Parker totaled a match-high 14 kills for Corban, hitting at an impressive clip of .522 on the night. Also playing well was freshman Adriana Aguayo, as she hit for a .316 mark offensively with 10 kills.

With a number of players seeing action on Saturday afternoon, the Warriors dismantled the Geoducks, and sophomore Madison McLain totaled a match-high 22 assists for the Warriors. Also dishing out six assists was senior Mikenzee Frazier for Corban, and defensively, it was an all-around great team effort.

Not one player had over 10 digs, but a slew of Warriors got involved, and it was junior Kasey Calderon notching a team-best five digs in the CCC win. Corban totaled five blocks as a team, with junior Alaina Gentili notching one solo block and three block assists, while sophomore Kinley Hickok registered two block assists for the Navy and Gold.

In the victory, the Warriors racked up 10 total aces, with Parker totaling five herself.

For Evergreen, Natalie Taylor recorded 11 kills in the defeat, while Kylie Kytan dished out 19 assists for the Geoducks.

Corban (17-5, 13-3 CCC) returns to the court for its final two home matches next weekend when it hosts Warner Pacific College on Friday night at 7 p.m. and Multnomah on Saturday for senior day at 3 p.m.
