Evergreen State tops Rocky Mountain
BILLINGS, Mont. - October 23, 2016 - The visiting Evergreen State College women's soccer team won a hard fought Cascade Collegiate Conference match over Rocky Mountain College, 3-2, on Wendy's Field in Billings Sunday.
The Battlin' Bears jumped out early on an Evelina Aberg goal at the 7:58 minute. She was assisted by Lauryn Gamache.
The Geoducks answered with three straight goals beginning at the 38:11 minute when Ana Vigil scored an unassisted goal. She was followed by Alli Crain, who scored off of a Haleigh Ryneski corner kick at 41:54. Delaney Rice made the score 3-1 at the 56:14 minute mark.
The Battlin' Bears' Alyssa Schneider made the score 3-2 when she scored on an unassisted goal at the 58:04 minute mark.
Rocky finished with 12 attempted shots, eight of them on goal.
The loss dropped the Battlin' Bears to 7-8 overall and 5-4 in league play. They return to the soccer pitch Friday October 28 when they play at Oregon Tech. They finish up regular season play at Southern Oregon University, October 29.
