The Field is Set for the 2016 CCC Men’s Soccer Postseason Tournament
LA GRANDE, Ore. – With the final regular season games coming to an end on Sunday, the field is set for the 2016 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer Championships presented by U.S. Bank.
Rocky Mountain and Corban both claim a share of the CCC regular season title while Rocky Mountain earns the number one seed in the postseason tournament, winning the head to head battle earlier this year.
Rocky Mountain also received the conference’s first automatic qualifier to the NAIA National Tournament, finishing the regular season with an overall record of 12-3-2, going 10-1-2 in CCC action.
Corban ended the regular season going 16-2 overall and 11-2 in the CCC to earn the second seed in the tournament.
Evergreen State and Southern Oregon both finished the regular season with a winning percentage of .769, but the Geoducks, who finished 9-1-4, 8-1-4 CCC, earn the tiebreaker in Longo points.
The Raiders claim the fourth seed after finishing the regular season at 11-3-2, 9-2-2 CCC.
The only seeds still waiting to be decided are the fifth and sixth seeds which will be between Carroll and Great Falls. If Carroll defeats Walla Walla on Sunday in their final regular season game, the Saints will be number five while the Argos will be the sixth seed. If Carroll loses, UGF jumps to five and the Saints sit in sixth.
Finishing off the tournament field in Northwest in the seventh spot and Oregon Tech in the eighth.
The tournament will be held at Willamalane in Springfield, Ore., and hosted by NCU. Quarterfinals start on Nov. 4 with the winners playing in the semifinals on Nov.5, before advancing to the championship game Nov. 7.
