NU's Jubilee Zevenbergen scored all three of the Eagles gfoals today Zevenbergen's Hat Trick Lifts Eagles Over the Owls 10/7/2016 3:10:36 PM KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Northwest University’s Jubliee Zevenbergen scored a hat trick as the Eagles defeated Oregon Tech 3-1, in Cascade Conference play this afternoon on the OIT soccer field. Zevenbergen, a sophomore forward from Lynnwood, Wash., scored her first goal just 6:32 into the first half to put Northwest U in the lead, 1-0. Oregon Tech failed to clear the ball and NU's Jaclyn Metz sent a cross across the box where Zevenbergen scored into the lower left of the goal. Neither team would find the goal the remainder of the half in the twelve total shots taken. Three minutes and 16 seconds into the second half, Zevenbergen would strike again on an an assisted by Ashley Evanger to make it 2-0. Then, at the 51:51 mark, she would score her third goal off an assist from Tiffany Taylor, the goal came inside the box for the 3-0 lead. Oregon Tech would persist and finally get on the scoreboard in the 59th minute when Kylie Cowell would take a pass from teammate Jodie Reoch and put her shot in from the top of the box past Eagle goalkeeper Lauren Hellum and an Eagle defender. Hellum would save Tech's Tori Robert's shot in the 80th minute to prevent a score. Oregon Tech slips to 2-9-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the Cascade Conference. Megan Green took the loss in goal for the Owls and made 8 saves for the game. Tarryn Miyamura led OIT with three shots, two shots on goal. Northwest U (7-3, 3-1 CCC) outshot OIT 19-14 with 11 shots on goal. Zevenbergen and Hannah Nicholson each had four shots for the Eagles and NU keeper, Lauren Hellum made five saves in goal earning the win. Zevenbergen now has five goals and two assists to tie her for the team lead in goals scored. The Eagles will be in Ashland for a late afternoon game at 4:30 p.m., on Saturday with Southern Oregon while Oregon Tech plays host to Evergreen State at 12:00 pm at the OIT Soccer Field.
