KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Owls of Oregon Tech hosted the Geoducks of Evergreen State on Saturday afternoon. Both teams battling for position in the top half of the CCC were coming off of overtime games the day before.

The contest began with high energy from both teams, with Oregon Tech controlling much of the play early on, when Geoduck midfielder, Issa Hassan, would send a ball to the back post and over the fingertips of Tech goalkeeper AJ Escalante for the first score of the contest. The Owls worked to battle back after conceding, but the Geoduck defense held strong limiting Tech’s opportunities on frame. The teams would enter the half with a score of 0-1 in favor of the Geoducks.

The second half of play saw a determined Tech charge at Evergreen States backline, with Tech freshman, Brennan Gazdik, cracking a shot and forcing a safe by goalkeeper Thomas Clark. With the Owls unable to put their chances away, the game would mostly be midfield battle, until a pass back to the Tech goalkeeper would be picked up and called for handling, creating a free kick inside the Tech’s penalty area. The Geoducks would chip the ball to the far post where two different headed shots would bounce off the crossbar before Miguel Viramontes would put it into the goal to make the score line 0-2 in favor of Evergreen State.
The game would be a battle back and forth with the Owls working hard to crack the Geoducks back line, but to no avail. The contest would end 0-2 in favor of the visitors, dropping Oregon Tech to 5-2-1 in the CCC while the Geoducks remain the last unbeaten team in the CCC at 4-0-3.
