LA GRANDE, Ore. – In a dramatic five-set match, first-seed Eastern Oregon defeated second-seed Corban 20-25, 25-22, 24-26, 25-20 and 15-13 to earn the 2016 Cascade Collegiate Conference Volleyball Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, on Saturday afternoon.

Four players for Eastern reached double digit in kills with Amanda Miller leading the way with 20 kills. Following her was Makayla Lindburg with 18 kills and Madisen Garlie with 14 kills.

Facilitating an offense that hit .238 in the match, Rachelle Chamberlain tallied a match high 68 assists along with 18 digs to lead EOU to a postseason title.

For Corban, Amber Parker led the Warriors with 16 kills while Madison McLain finished with 60 assists.

Both Eastern Oregon’s and Corban’s seasons will continue as both teams have secured an automatic qualifier to the NAIA National tournament with Eastern winning the regular season title, and the Warriors being the tournament runner up.
