LA GRANDE, Ore. – With the release of the 2016 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer All-Conference teams, Timur Zhividze of Corban and Eddie Cass of Rocky Mountain have been named Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year respectively, the conference office announced.

Zhividze, a junior from Vancouver, Ore., registered a conference high 19 goals, eight more than anyone else in the CCC, as he helped his team to a share of the regular season title. He also added nine assists which tied for the most on the year.

Cass, a senior native of York, England, led a defense that allowed only 18 goals all season, a tie for the fourth least in the conference. Rocky Mountain totaled seven shutouts as they recorded their second straight regular season championship.

Southern Oregon’s Carlos Magana was voted the conference’s Newcomer of the Year. Magana tallied 10 goals on the season, the third most in the CCC, and added an assist to lead his team to a fourth seed in conference postseason tournament.

The Evergreen State College’s head coach John Purtteman was named the 2016 CCC Coach of the Year after a vote by his peers. Purtteman led the Geoducks to an overall mark of 9-1-4 in the regular season, finish at 8-1-4 in CCC action. Evergreen holds the third seed entering into the conference tournament.
