LA GRANDE, Ore. – Southern Oregon’s Megan McArthur was named the 2016 Cascade Collegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Year while Carroll’s Jamie Carter was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year, after a voting of the league’s head coaches.

McArthur, a senior from San Jose, Calif., helped lead the Raiders to an overall regular season mark of 12-5-1, going 9-2 in CCC action, to earn a share of the program’s first regular season championship. McArthur finished second in the conference in total points, scoring nine goals to go along with three assists on the year.

For Carter, her performance between the posts earned Carroll the other share of the regular season title, finishing 8-0-3 in conference, going 11-3-3 overall. A senior from Camas, Wash., Carter holds the highest save percentage at .875 with 63 saves while also having the highest goals against average (.052) allowing only nine goals in 17 appearances.

Corban’s Holly Martinez Moorman was named the CCC’s Newcomer of the Year for the 2016 season. The junior from Salem, Ore., tied for third in the conference in goals scored with nine and added two assists on the season.

The awards for Southern Oregon continued as Jenni Rosenberg was named the 2016 Coach of the Year. Rosenberg will finish up her third full season with the Raiders, leading them to their best finish in the regular season in the program’s 17-year history. SOU’s highest finish before this season was second place in 2003 and again in 2011.
