CLEVELAND – In the first set of fall NAIA Learfield Directors' Cup
standings, British Columbia has accumulated 185 points to lead the NAIA standings. British Columbia takes the early lead in NAIA by capturing the women’s cross country title and coming in third in men’s cross country.

Southern Oregon is in second with 172 points, capturing the men’s cross country title and finishing 7th in women’s cross country. The College of Idaho is currently in third with 153.50 points after finishing fourth and 6th in men’s and women’s cross country, respectively. Oklahoma City is in fourth with 147 points finishing fifth in women’s and 7th in men’s cross country. Rounding out the top five is St. Francis (IL) with 143 points, finishing second in men’s and 21st in women’s cross country.

The Cascade leads all NAIA conferences in the top 10 with three institutions – Southern Oregon (2nd), the College of Idaho (3rd), and Oregon Tech (10th). Other CCC schools ranked in the standings are Northwest Christian (20) and Eastern Oregon (30).

The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships. The Directors’ Cup Committee is reviewing the scoring structure for 2016-17 which will be finalized prior to the winter sports standings.

The next NAIA fall standings will be released Thursday, December 15.Please note, standings published midseason are unofficial.
