Fifth-seed Northwest Registers Quarterfinal Win over No. 4 Eastern Oregon
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – As the fifth-seed in the tournament, the Northwest University Eagles pulled off a slight upset, 3-2, over No. 4 Eastern Oregon in the quarterfinal round of the Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Soccer Championship, presented by U.S. Bank.
NU’s Jubilee Zevenbergen recorded the first goal of the game in the 16
th minute of play. The Eagles added to their lead in the second half, scoring two goals in just over a minute to take a companding 3-0 advantage.
Eastern added two goals by Alexandria Cuaresma in the 58
th minute and by Zoe Anderson in the 90
th.
Northwest totaled 18 shots to Eastern Oregon’s 20, with the Eagles tallying nine saves.
