SPRINGFIELD, Ore. –With the quarterfinal round of the 2016 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, completed, the semifinals are set to start tonight with #1 Rocky Mountain taking on #6 Great Falls, and #2 Corban playing #5 Carroll.
 
Semifinal Game 1 - #1 Rocky Mountain vs. #6 Great Falls – 8 p.m.
 
Great Falls pulled off the quarterfinals upset over #3 Evergreen State, collecting two second half goals and holding the Geoducks to only six shots. The Argos opened up the second half with a goal in the 47th minute by Christoffer Bisbo, and a second goal in the 83rd minute by Alex Williams.
 
Rocky Mountain held a lead over #8 Oregon Tech heading into halftime and didn’t look back, adding three more goals in the second half of play. The Battlin’ Bears tallied 14 shots to Oregon Tech’s seven as Tiago Ewald recorded two goals for Rocky.
 
Great Falls upset Rocky Mountain in the regular season, winning 4-0 on the road back in September.
 
Semifinal Game 2 - #2 Corban vs. #5 Carroll – 8 p.m.
 
Carroll advanced to the semifinal round over fourth-seed Southern Oregon after ending regulation and overtime at a 0-0 tie, advancing 6-5 on penalty kicks. Dylan Allen converted the final PK for the Saints.
 
Corban rattled off 19 shots with 12 landing on target, coming away with a 2-0 win over seventh-seed Northwest. The two goals were scored in the first half as the 2016 Offensive Player of the Year in Timur Zhividze assisted on both goals, first to Kemar Prince in the 27th and then to Miguel Naves in the 39th.
 
The Warriors earned a 2-0 result against the Saints at home earlier in the season.
 
Both semifinals games kick off tonight at 8 p.m., with the winners playing for the CCC Tournament Championship on Monday, Nov. 7.
