2016 CCC Men’s Soccer Tournament Semifinal Recap

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Second-seed Corban and sixth-seed Great Falls will play for a 2016 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer Championship as well as an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament after advancing past the semifinals on Saturday night.
 
Corban advanced to the championship game earning a 3-1 result over #5 Carroll. The Warriors notched two first half goals as they totaled 10 shots in the game with five landing on target. Timur Zhividze opened up the scoring in the 24th minute with an assist from Quamie Dinnall before Travez Whyte converted a penalty kick 10 minutes later.
 
Corban’s lead grew in the opening four minutes of the second half as Langdon Roscoe headed the ball after a free kick by Armando Guevara.
 
Great Falls completed their second upset of the tournament on Saturday, matching their regular season win over Rocky Mountain with a 4-0 result.
 
The Argos jumped out on top in the first half scoring three goals before the break. The first one came in the 18th minute as Chistoffer Bisbo rebounded a deflection before sending the ball to the back of the net from three yards out.
 
Great Falls’ next two goals came within a minute of each other, first by Mohamed Oulare in the 32nd followed by Sam Howard moments later.
 
As the regular season champion, Rocky Mountain earned the CCC’s first automatic qualifier while the tournament champion will receive the second.
 
The championship match is set to begin Monday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m.
