Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period October 31-November 6.
Ben Tucakovic
Men’s Basketball
Northwest’s Ben Tucakovic has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Tucakovic, a senior from Boise, Idaho, has played a large role in the Eagles getting off to a 4-0 start at the beginning of their season. Had double-doubles in their New Hope and Benedictine games and just missed a third straight by one rebound in the Embry-Riddle game Saturday.
He has averaged a double-double in the last three contests and is shooting over 46 per cent.

Nic Maszk
Men’s Cross Country
Eastern Oregon’s Nic Maszk has been named the Red Lion Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Maszk, a junior from Baker City, Ore., was the top performer at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships, earning the individual title with a time of 26:15.

Hannah Hanson
Volleyball – Attacker
Northwest’s Hannah Hanson has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Attacker of the Week.
Hanson, a senior from Tenino, Wash., led the Eagles both matches over the weekend in kills while hitting .474 for 9 sets and helped the Eagles clinch third place in the CCC, their highest finish in the conference since 2005 when the finished second in the CCC.

Brandy Velasquez
Volleyball - Defender
Warner Pacific’s Brandy Velasquez has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Defender of the Week.
Velazquez, a senior from Gresham, Ore., tallied 37 digs in two matches for the Knights as they clinched a playoff spot in the CCC tournament.

Kealia Rosa
Volleyball - Setter
Warner Pacific’s Kealia Rosa has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Setter of the Week.
Rosa, a sophomore from Portland, Ore., registered 94 assists including 55 against Northwest as she helped her team earn a tournament berth in the CCC Championships.

Miranda Langenhorst
Women’s Basketball
Northwest’s Miranda Langenhorst has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Langenhorst, a sophomore from Susanville, Calif., averaged a double-double in the Eagles two road games in Arizona over the weekend while hitting .467 of her shots.

Sierra Brown
Women’s Cross Country
Northwest Christian’s Sierra Brown has been named the Red Lion Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Brown, a senior from Jacksonville, Ore., won her second consecutive CCC championship on Saturday and led NCU to their third straight team title. Outpaced second-place finisher (Jessa Perkinson, 2016 NAIA 10k champion) by 19 seconds to finish in 18:08.
A slower time is a direct reflection of the heavy rain storm before and during the race and extremely muddy course conditions.
