ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - The NU Eagle women's soccer team prepares to play one of their biggest games ever and in the national spotlight today when they take on Northwestern Ohio in the NAIA national semifinal game at the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship.

Eagles fans will be watching the game live in the NU dining hall and in the Perks lounge on the Kirkland campus.

The Scoop on Northwestern Ohio
The Racers are the champions of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference and have a 22-2-1 record. They tied with No. 20 ranked Davenport for the league title but won on a tie breaker having lost to Davenport in the regular season, but defeated them in the conference title game. The Racers are tough on defense having registered 19 shutouts this season. This will be their third straight year playing in a NAIA semifinal.

UNOH has scored 92 goals this season and average 3.8 goals per game. The Racers are coached by Stuart Gore, in his fourth season at Northwestern Ohio. Their team is like a mini United Nations with 21 players from other countries—England, New Zealand, Czech Republic, France, Bulgaria, Sweden, Norway, Croatia and others. There are only two Americans on their squad.

It'll be a big challenge for the Eagles today, but the ladies have shown they can compete on the national level. NU is the only unranked, at-large team in the semifinal.
