PALO ALTO, Calif. - The Eagle women's basketball team's recent trip to Northern California for the Cal Maritime Classic and basketball also included a side trip to Palo Alto, Calif., and the Ronald McDonald House there for community service.

Coaches Crawford, Greene and Fiso along with the team spent time with the youngsters and their families who are staying there while undergoing medical treatment. It's also where Eagle guard, Charmaine Bradford, spends some of her time during breaks and the summer when she's home in California. The ladies spent the day doing craft projects with the kids, cooking, serving and painting Christmas ornaments while getting to know some of the staff at the house.

"I'm proud of this group," said NU coach, Ken Crawford, "It was their idea to visit the Ronald McDonald House which shows they are recognizing the need to be true to the word of being a servant leader."

The team is living the core values of the NAIA's Champions of Character program: Integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.
