Malcolm's Career High Sends WP Over Multnomah

Collin Malcolm scored a career high 30 points to lead Warner Pacific over Multnomah 106-75 in the CCC season opener for both teams.

The sophomore also grabbed a career high 19 rebounds, which was one carom short of the WPC record held by Kaylone Riley.

The game was expected to be a track meet and it did not disappoint, with both teams playing at a quick pace and shooting numerous three pointers. Warner Pacific scored with frequency, especially in the first half as the Knights hit 50% of their field goal attempts (22 of 44) and nailed eight three pointers. Multnomah was unable to match the offensive output, making just 34% of their tries. The discrepancy resulted in a 56-35 lead for WPC at halftime.

The visiting Lions attempted to rally in the second half, and were able to cut the gap to 12 points (60-48) at the 16:36 mark thanks to a trio of makes from distance by Max Upchirch. The Knights righted the ship after a timeout, and held off the challenge behind back-to-back buckets from Malcolm.

WPC continued to increase their advantage and led by as many as 33 points before the game wrapped up.

In addition to Malcolm's career night, Bryce White dropped in 25 points and passed for eight assists. De'Corrius Sampson-Young also had a season high of 22 points.

MU was led by Ezekiel Martin's 18 points.
