LA GRANDE, Ore. –A fighting incident in a non-conference baseball game between Lewis-Clark State College and Corban University has resulted in suspensions and reprimands handed down to both programs the Conference Office announced today.
 
The incident took place in the first inning of a game between the two NAIA West Grouping opponents which resulted in a fight between Jacob Zanon of LCSC and Austin Andrews of Corban. Both Zanon and Andrews were ejected from the game and will serve a mandatory four game suspension for fighting.
 
In addition, Ryan Rosas from Corban, as well as, J. J. Robinson and Julian Ramon from LCSC were suspended for one game for their role in escalating the incident.
 
Further, each game when Corban and LCSC face each other this year in NAIA West play the Conference Office has instructed the officials to issue a plate warning to both teams prior to the start of the game. If either team receives any ejections to players, assistant coaches or bench personnel then the head coach; Jerimiah Robbins-LCSC or Jeff McKay-Corban, are subject to a six game suspension to be immediately in effect. The teams will play a three-game series March 25-27 in Salem, Ore. and a four-game series back in Lewiston, Idaho April 29-May 1. The plate warning would also include any games the two teams may play against each other in the NAIA West playoffs as well.
 
The NAIA West Grouping is made up of CCC schools; Corban, Oregon Tech, College of Idaho, Cal-Pac member Simpson and Independents British Columbia and Lewis-Clark State. The grouping is administered by the Cascade Conference.
