Eagles Dominate Boards in 108-43 Win Over Wolves
COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Northwest University dominated the boards at both ends of the court to out rebound Walla Walla University 54-29 in their 108-43 win.
The Eagles shot 62% from the field to go into half with a 66-20 lead. Brianna Fiso led the way with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Teammate Miranda Langenhorst added 12 points of her own.
Northwest (13-15, 8-10) would use their rebounding advantage to earn 40 first half points inside the paint.
The second half would see the Walla Walla University (0-24, 0-17) defense come alive and slow down the scoring onslaught of the Eagles, holding them to 42 second half points.
Leading all scorers was Northwest’s Brianna Fiso with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Also scoring in double digits were Miranda Lagenhorst and Hannah Carlson with 13 and 12 points respectively. Miranda added 8 rebounds of her own to help her team total 54 for the night.
The top scorer for the Wolves was freshman Grace Wallace with 12. Lauren Pernu added 10 points of her own to go with her team high 6 rebounds.
The Wolves are back in action tomorrow at 1:00pm as they host The Evergreen State College. Northwest hosts Multnomah at 5:30pm on the 19
th.
