Second Half Lifts Eagles Over Wolves

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Northwest University (11-17, 7-11) shot 43.5% from the field to take the win over Walla Walla University (3-22, 1-16) on Windemuth Court Saturday night by a score of 78-66.
 
The first half couldn’t have been more even as both teams traded points back and forth for 20 minutes. Walla Walla’s Spencer Woodworth gave the Wolves their biggest lead after hitting from down town with 11:08 left on the clock.
 
Jessie Norton would tie things up at 19 with a triple of his own and would send the Eagles into the locker room with the biggest lead of the half, 34-30, after hitting another three with 12 seconds left in the half.
 
The second half would see Michael Dupree and Ben Tocakovic of Northwest take over. Held to just 11 combined points in the first half, they would end up scoring 38 of their teams 78 points.
 
Chad Torkelsen responded to the duo from Northwest by scoring 18 of his game high 23 in the second half but it wasn’t enough as the Eagles came away with the win.
 
Stat leaders for Northwest were Michael Dupree and Ben Tucakovic with 19 points each and Zach Smith with 17.
 
Chad Torkelsen led all scorers with 23 whol team mates Ryan Spady and Ethan Osias chipped in 13 and 12 respectively. Andrew Nye led all rebounders with 9.
