Wolves Keep Pace in First Half but Can't Stay With Geoducts

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – The Evergreen State College (5-18, 5-13) used a balanced attack to defeat Walla Walla University (0-25, 0-18) by a score of 85-43 with six of their players scoring in double digits.
 
Evergreen would jump out to an early 15-2 lead after a layup from Victoria Elleby but Walla Walla would fight back and keep pace with the Geoducks with 3’s coming from Charity Underwood and Janessa Blaser. At the end of one, the score was 12-24.
 
A jumper from Lauren Pernu would bring the Wolves to within 6, 22-28, with 2:42 left in the half but that was as close as they were going to get. The Geoducks would score the last 7 points of the half and go into the locker room with a 37-24 lead.
 
The second half was all Evergreen as they would go up by as many as 43 points and finished the game 85-43.
 
Three Evergreen players would come away with double-doubles for the afternoon, Victoria Elleby (16-15), Uriah Thomas (11-12) and Autumn Moorcroft (11-11). Babi Fenumiai would also add 16 points to her team’s total.
 
Lauren Pernu led the Wolves with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Grace Wallace would add 10 points of her own and Kassidy Kuykendall would pitch in 9 points and 5 rebounds.
