Field is Set for 2016 CCC Women’s Basketball Tournament

LA GRANDE, Ore. – With the conclusion of the final regular season games, the field is set for the 2016 Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament presented by U.S. Bank, which will begin Tuesday, Feb. 23.
 
Southern Oregon claimed the top spot in the tournament and the regular season championship after finishing the season 26-1 overall, going 19-1 in CCC play. With the number one seed, the Raiders also claim the first automatic qualifier to the NAIA national tournament.
 
Following SOU is Oregon Tech (23-7, 16-4 CCC) at the number two spot after holding the tiebreaker over third seeded Eastern Oregon (23-7, 16-4 CCC).
 
Claiming the final home game in the quarterfinals and the fourth seed is Northwest Christian who finished the year 18-11 overall and 13-7 in conference.
 
Rounding out the reaming teams in the tournament are Corban in the fifth seed, Northwest in the sixth seed, Warner Pacific in the seventh seed and College of Idaho in the final spot at number eight.
 
The second national qualifier will go to the CCC tournament champion. If Southern Oregon claims the postseason title, the second qualifier will go to Oregon Tech as they are seeded as the second overall team in the tournament.
