NCU Claims Top Seed in CCC Men’s Basketball Championship

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament presented by U.S. Bank, is set to begin Wednesday, Feb. 24 as Northwest Christian claimed the conference regular season title and the number one seed.
 
The Beacons also earned the first automatic qualifier to the NAIA national tournament which is slated for March 9-15.
 
Coming in as the second seed of the tournament is Southern Oregon with a 23-7 and 16-4 in conference play. The Raiders hold the tiebreaker over third seeded Warner Pacific.
 
College of Idaho claimed the final home game with a win at Walla Walla for the fourth seed, putting Oregon Tech in the fifth spot.
 
Eastern Oregon enters the tournament as the sixth seed followed by Corban in the seventh spot and Northwest in the eighth seed.
 
The tournament champion will receive the conference’s second automatic qualifier to the national tournament but if NCU wins, the AQ will be awarded to Southern Oregon as they are the number two seed in the tournament.
