Jordan Asher now has 1191 career points Big Third Quarter Helps Lift Eagles Over Knights 2/20/2016 10:58:56 PM KIRKLAND, Wash. – A 12-2 third quarter run by Northwest University helped lift the Eagles to a 91-71 Cascade Conference win over Warner Pacific in the final regular season games for both teams. It was also senior night for Northwest U as they honored three graduating seniors: Jordan Asher, Brianna Fiso and Kristen Frey. Leading 43-33 with 7:30 to go in the third period, Northwest U would go on their run to push their lead to twenty, 55-35, to help put the game away. Two free throws by NU’s Paige Burson at 4:01 in the third, would increase the Eagle lead to 62-37 and NU would have a 73-50 lead at the end of the quarter. With four players each having four fouls, Warner Pacific could not make up ground in the final period as Northwest U would register their 9th conference win of the season and improve to 9-10 in the CCC. With the victory, Northwest U earns the No. 6 seed in the 2016 Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament presented by U.S. Bank, which will begin Tuesday, Feb. 23, with the Eagles traveling to La Grande, Ore., to play No. 3 seed, Eastern Oregon. Senior Jordan Asher, playing in her final game in Kirkland, led Northwest U (15-15, 10-10 CCC) with 17 points and 9 assists. Senior Brianna Fiso and freshman Miranda Langenhorst each scored 10 points with Langenhorst adding 10 rebounds for the double-double. NU out rebounded the Knights 47-37 with 17 offensive rebounds. Warner Pacific (14-11, 9-10 CCC) had four players in double figures, led by Taylor Howlett’s 18 points. Daesha Jackson scored 12 points; and Lindsay Loe contributed 11 for the Knights who shot 38 percent for the game. Warner Pacific earns the No. 7 seed and will play No. 2 seed, Oregon Tech in Klamath Falls, Ore., on Feb. 23.
