Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period Feb. 15-21.
Connor Mattison
Baseball – Pitcher
Corban’s Connor Mattison has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Mattison, a sophomore from Salem, Ore., threw seven innings of one-hit baseball while allowing no runs and striking out three batters en route to picking up his first-ever win for Corban.

Bruce Yari
Baseball
British Columbia’s Bruce Yari has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.
Yari, a senior from Waterloo, Ont., helped the UBC Thunderbirds to a 4-1 record over the past week, which included wins over NAIA No. 10-ranked The Master's (Calif.) and a pair of NCAA Division 2 squads. He had 10 hits over the five games to improve his batting average to .397.
Yari also struck out just once over that span while earning four walks. UBC opens NAIA West Grouping play this weekend in Redding, Calif., against the Simpson Redhawks.

Lavar Moore
Men’s Basketball
Oregon Tech’s Lavar Moore has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Moore, a senior guard from Waterbury, Conn., has averaged 27 points a game over the last 3 weeks. He continued his hot shooting this past weekend leading the Owls to two huge road wins over CCC Champion and No 12 Northwest Christian and Corban.

Zeb Hoffman
Men’s Indoor Field
Evergreen’s Zeb Hoffman has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Hoffman, a junior from Olympia, Wash., threw a lifetime best 19.07 meters (62-6 3/4) in the weight throw. The mark is an automatic qualifier for the NAIA indoor national meet and puts him in third on the list heading into the national meet.

Victoria Mackey
Softball – Pitcher
Southern Oregon’s Victoria Mackey has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Mackey, a freshman from Benicia, Calif., ran her record to 6-0 with two more wins at the NAIA Southern California Classic, earning decisions in relief against 18th-ranked Vanguard and with an eight-inning complete game against 20th-ranked Biola. She allowed five earned runs over 19 2/3 innings in four appearances.

Kelsey Randall
Softball
Southern Oregon’s Kelsey Randall has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
Randall, a sophomore from Concord, Calif., extended her hitting streak to 10 games by going 11-for-24 and leading the Raiders to a 5-1 record with upsets of two ranked opponents at the NAIA Southern California Classic. She scored in five of six games with a total of seven runs.

Jordan Asher
Women’s Basketball
Northwest’s Jordan Asher has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Asher, a senior guard from Puyallup, Wash., now has 1,191 career points and her 14 assists over the weekend has her leading the CCC in assists per game (4.500) and ranked No. 6 in NAIA Division II in assist turnover ratio (2.455). She is No. 7 in the NAIA in total assists with 135.

Rhonda Costin
Women’s Indoor Track
Oregon Tech’s Rhonda Costin has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Costin, senior from Springfield, Ore., shattered the Oregon Tech school-record by nearly 4-minutes. She set Tech’s new mark at 1:29.56 and will represent Oregon Tech in the marathon event this May at the 2016 NAIA national championships
