LA GRANDE, Ore. – College of Idaho’s Mascot Yote the Coyote earned another trip to the Cascade Collegiate Conference Mascot Challenge, holding off Walla Walla’s Wally the Wolf in the final round of the semifinals.
Yote, last year’s champion, will join Corban’s Cadmar the Warrior in the final round of the Mascot Challenge beginning Tuesday, Feb. 9.
Losing to Wally the Wolf late last night, C of I received a surge of likes to fend off the upset bid by Walla Walla, who made it to the semifinals in their first year as members of the CCC. Yote earned a total of 374 votes compared to Wally’s 354 votes in the closest match up this year.
The theme for the final round is left for each school to decide as they are encouraged to be as creative as possible. Voting for the CCC Mascot Champion will begin at 8 am on Tuesday on the conference’s Facebook page with the winner announced the following morning.
