KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Defending national champion Keiser (Fla.) kicks off the spring portion of the ratings calendar with the No. 1 ranking in the second regular-season edition of the 2016 NAIA Women’s Golf Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Friday. The third installment releases on March 25.

Top 25 Highlights (historical information dates back to 1999):
• Keiser, which has ranked No. 1 for nine-consecutive editions, claimed 14 of the possible 17 first-place votes and 465 total points en route to the top spot.
• The Seahawks have played in two tournaments so far this spring, highlighted by a team title at the Start 2 Finish Classic at Lake Wales Country Club in Lake Wales, Fla., Feb. 21 – 22. Elsa Westin – a 2015 First Team All-American – was the top finisher for Keiser, taking second-place with a 36-hole score of 144 (70-74).
• No. 2 SCAD Savannah (Ga.), No. 3 William Woods (Mo.) and No. 4 Dalton State (Ga.) round out the top four for a second-consecutive poll.
• No. 5 Oklahoma City slides up one spot to join the top five for the first time since April 30, 2015. The Stars have one win and a pair of top 10 finishes through three spring tournaments. Oklahoma City’s victory came at the Claud Jacobs Invitational in Victoria, Texas, Feb. 14 – 15.
• SCAD Atlanta (Ga.) jumped a poll-best four places from No. 19 to No. 15 this week. The Bees have finished no lower than fourth in any tournament this season, including a second-place result on Feb. 22 – 23 at the Georgetown College Invitational in Georgetown, Ky. SCAD Atlanta had four individuals among the top 15 at the event, headlined by a third-place finish by Ashley Madden (77-79—156).
• No. 10 Wayland Baptist (Texas), which fell three spots, and No. 19 Milligan (Tenn.), which dropped two places, were the only teams with negative movement of more than one.
• No. 23 Mobile (Ala.) is the newcomer this week. The Rams were last ranked in the preseason poll on August 28, 2015.
• The Sun Conference leads all leagues with five teams represented in the Top 25 – Keiser, SCAD Savannah, No. 7 USC Beaufort (S.C.), No. 13 Thomas (Ga.) and No. 25 Southeastern (Fla.)
• Oklahoma City boasts the most No. 1 rankings with 43, followed by British Columbia with 13.

Poll Methodology
• The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and the Association of Independent Institutions.
• The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
• The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low ratings) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appears on.
• Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
