KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Starting pitcher John Schulz allowed one run, Darian Benanua tossed four shutout innings and Matthew Moorehead roped three doubles to help Oregon Tech get by Corban University, 3-1, in non-conference baseball action this afternoon at Kiger Stadium.

Oregon Tech (10-20, 2-10 NAIA W) will next travel to University of British Columbia for a four-game series this Friday and Saturday.  Corban (9-13, 6-6 NAIA W) is at Central Washington on March 22.

Oregon Tech got on the board first scoring once in the bottom of the second inning.  Matthew Moorehead connected on his first double of the game and scored on a Loren Cutolo RBI single.

The Warriors tied the contest in their next at-bat when Jarrett Thoren led off with a double and scored on a ground out.

Tech plated a pair of runs in the bottom half of the fifth inning, while Darian Benanua held CU scoreless over the final four frames to pick up his second save of the season.  Moorehead once again doubled with Cutolo driving in what would turn out to be the winning run on another RBI single.  Evan Johnson, in a pinch hit role, doubled to score Cutolo, making it 3-1.  The game would end by the same score.

John Schulz tossed 5.0 innings to earn his first win of the season.  Schulz allowed four hits and one run, while striking out three.  Benanua struck out five and gave up just one hit in his 4.0 innings of work.

Moorehead finished 3-for-4 with three doubles and scored twice.  Cutolo drove in two runs on two hits with Johnson adding a RBI and double in the win.

Jarrett Thoren was 2-for-2 with a double while Kyle Kilian doubled and drove in the Warriors lone run.
