Thomas Hits NAIA "B", 21 CCC Marks in Outdoor Opener
HERMISTON, Ore. –
Tiana Thomas hit the NAIA provisional standard with a win in the 400-meter hurdles, one of 21 College of Idaho Cascade Conference qualifying marks at the Eastern Oregon Team Challenge to open the 2016 outdoor track season.

The three-time indoor All-American clocked a time of 1:03.63 to win the event – easily under the "B" standard for the upcoming national championships. Thomas added a second-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (15.21), while helping the C of I 4x100-meter relay to a second-place finish (48.85) and the 4x400-meter relay to a victory (3:57.34) to close the meet.
Fellow indoor All-American
Lila Klopfenstein claimed a victory in the 1,500-meters (4:51.54), with
Allison Cossins earning a win in the pole vault (2.75 meters) – both hitting the conference qualifying mark.
Nichole DeGrange hit the CCC standard with third-place finishes in the 100-meters (12.79) and the 200-meters (26.03), while throwers
Hayley Morse (12.32 meters in the shot put; 37.94 meters in the hammer throw; 33.41 meters in the discus) and
Claire Otero (11.43 meters in the shot put; 37.21 meters in the hammer throw; 40.78 meters in the discus) hitting CCC marks in all three throws – Morse breaking the school record in the hammer.
