Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period Mar. 14-20.
Quin Grogan
Baseball – Pitcher
Lewis-Clark State College’s Quin Grogan has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Grogan, a senior from Stanfield, Ore., was masterful in his first win of the season, tossing a 7-inning no hitter, striking out nine with just two walks...First no-hitter since 1999, first at home since 1998...25th in program history, 17th complete game no-hitter...tossed 94 pitches in the win.

Mitch Skaggs
Baseball
College of Idaho’s Mitch Skaggs has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.
Hanson, a senior from Boise, Idaho, led C of I to their first series sweep of UBC since 2001...was 6-for-12 with 2 HR and 13 RBI...including a career-high six RBI in the series finale

Eric England
Men’s Outdoor Field
Eastern Oregon’s Eric England has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
England, a junior from Meridian, Idaho, posted the top triple jump mark (15.59m) in the NAIA, also qualified for nationals.

Jonathan Ferguson
Men’s Outdoor Track
Northwest’s Jonathan Ferguson has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Ferguson, a senior form Pleasant Hill, Ore., competing in his first outdoor meet of the season, ran a NAIA "B" qualifying time in the 1500m at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open, # 2 in the NAIA thus far. Jonathan was the top NAIA runner competing against a majority of NCAA Division I and II competition, 46 runners in all.

Ann-Marie Guischer
Softball – Pitcher
Oregon Tech’s Ann-Marie Guischer has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Guischer, a senior from The Dalles Ore., picked up two wins in 2 starts with a 2.05 ERA.

Shayla Kaplen
Softball
British Columbia’s Shayla Kaplen has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
Kaplen, a junior from Richmond, B.C., led the UBC Thunderbirds in their first Cascade Collegiate Conference games ever this week. UBC went 4-2, including a sweep of No. 17 Corban (Ore.). In total, Kaplen went 8-for-14 at the plate, driving in eight runs. She also drew seven walks and was perfect on three stolen base attempts.

Jenna Jensen
Women’s Golf
Corban’s Jenna Jensen has been named the Red Lion Softball Women’s Golfer of the Week.
Jensen, a freshman from Kalispell, Mont., recorded the fourth-best round in school history with a 74 in the first round at the UCSC Invite, and then followed that up with a second-round 81 to tie for fourth in the tournament as an individual. It was the best score by any Corban women's golfer on the year, and the fourth-best single-round score in program history.
For Jensen, it was the first time she had ever shot in the 70s. The team finished in fourth of nine teams at the tournament.

Liz Ayers
Women’s Outdoor Field
Eastern Oregon’s Liz Ayers has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Ayers, sophomore from Stayton, Ore., took second and qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championships in the javelin with a mark of 40.18.

Sierra Brown
Women’s Outdoor Track
Northwest Christian’s Sierra Brown has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the week.
Brown, a junior from Jacksonville, Ore., broke a four-year old NCU record in the 1500m and hit the NAIA "A" standard. Posted the third-fastest time in the NAIA this season and was the highest non-DI finisher behind runners from Oregon, Oregon State and UP. Brown has now qualified for NAIA with "A" standards in the 1500m and 5000m.
