LC Baseball remains second in NAIA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released its second 2016 NAIA Baseball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll and Lewis-Clark State College remains No. 2.
The Warriors lost hold of the top spot in the first regular season poll after a pair of losses to College of Idaho and the University of British Columbia. LCSC is currently on a six game win streak, outscoring their opponents 55-15 in those wins.
LC State, who is currently 20-2 on the season and 11-2 in the NAIA West, received 481 total points and one first-place vote in the poll. LCSC is currently leading the nation in doubles per game (3.136) while individuals Jacob Zanon and J.J. Robinson are second and third in runs scored per game (1.5) and RBI per game (1.636), respectively.
Lewis-Clark State is the only NAIA West team in the top-25 though second place College of Idaho, whom the Warriors face April 8-10 at Harris Field, is ranked 26th with 83 points.
Faulkner (Ala.) remains atop the poll with 17 first-place votes and 498 total points with LCSC just 17 points back. The top eight positions remain unchanged in the poll with Georgia Gwinnett, Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) and Bellevue (Neb.) rounding out the top five.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and the Association of Independent Institutions.
