KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University’s director of athletics, Gary McIntosh announced the signing of two high school student-athletes to play women’s soccer at the school. Victoria Rice of Corona, Calif., and Kat Sanchez of Arlington, Wash., signed letters of intent to attend NU in the fall.

Sanchez will graduate from Arlington High School this spring and is a goalkeeper for the Eagles. She has earned varsity letters in soccer and track and field at AHS and was named to the first team, All-WESCO 3A team in 2014 and 2015. Sanchez was also a second team, 2015 All-Area 3A goalkeeper, 2015 All-State 3A team member and named prep athlete of the week during the 2015 season.

Rice attends Roosevelt High School in Eastvale, Calif., and is a three year varsity letter winner. She was named second team all-league in her sophomore season and sat out her junior year due to injury. Rice played her select soccer for the U18 ECNL SO Cal Blues club.

“I’m excited to announce the signing of these two players,” commented McIntosh. “Both will make an immediate impact for the program and I can see them contributing right away.  They have both played at the highest levels of competitive club soccer so they bring in a lot of experience and will be great additions to our program."

Rice and Sanchez will play for new women’s coach Brian Chud who will be taking over the program in July when he and his family return to the U.S. from Ireland.
