Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period Mar. 21-27.
Thomas Kerr
Baseball – Pitcher
Corban’s Thomas Kerr has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Kerr, a junior from Olympia, Wash., shut down No. 2 Lewis-Clark State in Corban's big upset win over LCSC. While throwing six effective innings and allowing only one run, he struck out nine LCSC batters.
He received a no-decision in the game, as Corban scored late to win it, but he helped Corban snap a 14-game losing streak to LCSC and Corban won just its sixth-ever game against the No. 2-ranked LCSC Warriors.

Mitch Skaggs
Baseball
College of Idaho’s Mitch Skaggs has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.
Skaggs, a senior from Boise, Idaho, Helped the Yotes extend a win streak to a season-high 10 games with a huge weekend in California...Skaggs hit 3 homers in the series, with his 8 HR on the year equaling the highest total by a C of I player since the new NCAA/NAIA bat modifications went into effect in 2011.

Aaron Seabrook
Men’s Golf
Corban’s Aaron Seabrook has been named the Red Lion Men’s Golfer of the Week.
Seabrook, a freshman from East Wenatchee, Wash., won the Simpson Invite individually with two rounds of 76, leading the team to a tournament title as well. After that win, he shot a 73 at the George Fox Invite, tying for 3rd overall in the tournament.

Jason Bracken
Men’s Outdoor Field
Corban’s Jason Bracken has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Bracken, a sophomore from Battle Ground, Wash., shattered the school record in the Decathlon, scoring 6125 points at the Pacific Combined Events while finishing in second overall, only behind a Portland State University competitor. Bracken won three of the 10 events en route to his school-record mark. His point total ranks No. 2 overall in the NAIA currently.

Nathan Martin
Men’s Outdoor Track
Corban’s Nathan Martin has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Martin, a sophomore from Turner, Ore., set a new school record in the 100 Meters, clocking a time of 10.92 seconds while taking third at the Willamette Invite.

Ali Graham
Softball – Pitcher
Oregon Tech’s Ali Graham has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Graham, a freshman from Chehalis, Wash., was 3-0 in the circle this week for the Owls. Pitched the first 6-no hit innings in a combined No hitter against NCU followed by a complete game 2-hitter against UBC. The freshman had a huge week at the plate as well, she had 5 homers including two-grand slams, 14 RBI and hit.688 (11-16)

Tara Moates
Softball
Oregon Tech’s Tara Moates has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
Moates, a sophomore from Klamath Falls, Ore., had the best week in her career leading the Owls to 6-0 record. Moates had 18-RBI, 6-homers, 2-doubles, and scored 10 runs. She hit .700 for the week and brought her season average up to .500.
Her combined 3-homers in doubleheader against NU helped OIT set a new school record and tie a conference record for home runs in a game at 5. OIT also set a new school record for homers in a doubleheader with 8.

Heidi Froelich
Women’s Golf
Oregon Tech’s Heidi Froelich has been named the Red Lion Women’s Golfer of the Week.
Froelich, a junior from Bend, Ore., recorded 83 and 81 in two rounds at the Desert Battle at Primm, finishing 34 out of 84 golfers.

Lindsay Asplund
Women’s Outdoor Field
Corban’s Lindsay Asplund has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Asplund, a freshman from Battle Ground, Wash., won the Heptathlon at the Pacific Combined Events, scoring 3617 points and winning by two points. She won the 800 Meters in the final event, vaulting herself from sixth place to first in the single event in dramatic fashion. It was her first time ever competing in the Heptathlon.

Cecilee Russell
Women’s Outdoor Track
Corban’s Cecilee Russell has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the week.
Russell, a senior from Hillsboro, Ore., set a new school record and clocked an NAIA 'A' standard time in the 400 Meter Hurdles at the Willamette Invite, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:03.17. She took second in the event, finishing only behind an NCAA D1 runner from Oregon State.
