Tech Men and Women in 2nd Place after First Day of OIT Spring Invite
Eagle Point, Ore. – Lewis-Clark State holds a 4 stroke lead over the Oregon Tech men with the Warrior women holding a 24 stroke advantage over the Lady Owls after the first day of the Oregon Tech Spring Invite being held for the first time at the Eagle Point Golf Club.
The LC-State Men shot a combined 584 to lead Oregon Tech by 4 strokes after the Owls shot a 588, Corban is in 3rd place 33 strokes behind OIT and just 1-stroke ahead of Simpson who in 4th after a day 1 total of 622. Warner Pacific is followed by Northwest Christian, with College of Idaho and Cal Maritime wrapping up the field.
Chris Lien from LC-State shot a first round 68 followed by a second round 75 to sit at -1 to lead field after two rounds. Tech’s Montana Frame and Houston Knox each combined for a first day total of 145 to sit two strokes back of the leader.
On the women’s side, Tech’s Janelle Ferlan shot a first day 79 to sit in 3rd place behind LC-State’s Karina Davila and Marrisa Louder who shot a 77 and 76 respectively to lead the Warriors to a 24 stroke advantage over the Owls. College of Idaho trail the Owls by 11 strokes in a battle for 2nd place.
Final round play is scheduled to begin tomorrow morning at 9:00 am at the Eagle Point Golf Club.
