CLEVELAND –
Biola leads in the first set of the NAIA Learfield Directors' Cup winter standings.
The Eagles have accumulated 507 total points, including 194 after 5 winter championships. The Eagles placed fourth in women’s swimming, 10
th in women’s indoor track and field and 12
th in men’s swimming.
In the top five, and jumping one spot from the final fall standings, is the
College of Idaho, with 398.50 points. The Coyotes finished 7
th in women’s swimming, 9
th in women’s track and field and 10
th in men’s swimming.
Other CCC Schools represented include,
Southern Oregon No. 9, Eastern Oregon No. 33, Northwest Christian No. 39, Warner Pacific No. 94, Oregon Tech No. 95, Evergreen No. 105, and Corban No. 123
The Cascade (College of Idaho-5
th and Southern Oregon-9
th) and Sooner (Wayland Baptist-2
nd and Oklahoma City-6
th) conferences lead all NAIA conferences in the top 10 with two institutions each.
The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and
USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 12 sports in the NAIA-- six women’s and six men’s.
The final NAIA winter standings will be released Thursday, March 24.
