KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Despite owning the nation’s longest winning streak at nine games, the Lewis-Clark State College baseball team remained second in the fifth edition of the NAIA Baseball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced on Tuesday.

The Warriors sit at 34-5 on the season and 20-3 in the NAIA West, having not lost since the second game on Mar. 30, a 5-4 setback to Menlo College, who was receiving votes. LCSC garnered 482 total points and is one of only three teams to hold the top spot this season and own an NAIA record 56 all-time top mentions and the association’s longest active streak in the Top 25 at 151 consecutive polls.

LC State remains the only NAIA West team in the poll and are 16 points behind unanimous No. 1 Georgia Gwinnett who holds a 42-2 record and collected 498 total points. Bellevue (Neb.) is third with 464 points followed by Faulkner (Ala.) and USC Beaufort (S.C.) to round out the top five.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and the Association of Independent Institutions.
