Higby and Ney Have Big Days at NNU Invitational
NAMPA, Idaho – Big days from
Tyler Higby and
Brooks Ney highlighted a great afternoon for the College of Idaho men's track team at the 2016 Northwest Nazarene Invitational.

The Yotes won four individual titles and established six new Cascade Conference Championships qualifying marks on the day.
Higby became the first C of I runner to break the 11-second mark in the 100-meters since the program returned in 2005, taking second with a time of 10.95 seconds. The two-sport athlete also won the 200-meters (22.19) and ran a leg on the victorious 4x100-meter relay (42.61).
Ney broke the Coyote school record in the 110-meter high hurdles, with his time of 15.00 seconds good enough for third-place in the event and establishing an NAIA "B" qualifying standard. The junior also took second in the 400-meter hurdles (55.76) and hit the CCC qualifying standard in the javelin (50.44 meters).
In the long jump,
Isaac Gonzalez recorded a personal best leap of 6.92 meters to place second and added a mark of 13.08 meters in the triple jump.
C of I had two other winners –
Joseph Bolin in the 400-meters (50.27) and
Collin Tracy in the 1,500-meters (4:12.23) – with Bolin hitting the CCC cut in both the 400 and the 200-meters (22.86).
Edmund Ellis hit the CCC mark with a second-place finish in the 800-meters (1:56.37), as did
Andrew Sutton in the 10,000-meters (33:13.69) and
Charles Kido in the pole vault (3.26 meters).
